Candy wrappers

Candy wrappers are usually clear plastics derived from polyethylene, polypropylene, and cellophane. These materials are chosen for their durability, moisture resistance, and transparency. Effort has been made to make biodegradable film to replace the conventional unsustainable plastics. In this case we realized that the proprieties and texture of this bio plastics closely resemble wax paper giving enough strength, flexibility and malleability to be a good material to preserve and protect candy. Candy wrapper also serves for branding and provide information. Thus weattempted to mold pattern when solidifying the bio plastic creating the diagonal line on the wrapper.

Sauce Packet

It’s estimated that 855 billion single-use plastic packets are trashed globally per year.Single use sauce packets with the plastic polyethylene. While the plastic is recyclable, the small size of the packets often causes issues in recycling machines, in addition the food contamination from the sauce. This bioplastic (among others) has the strength, flexibility, and durability to replace plastic in the production of sauce packets.Rather than risking food contamination in recycling facilities, using a biodegradable material turns food contamination into a pro rather than a con.
Produce Label

Bar code sticker often made of plastic, are small labels affixed to fruits and vegetables to provide information to consumers and retailers. Though these sticker are usually safe for contact with food, forgetful removal of theses sticker and the residue glue on the surface of the produces arises concerns regarding risk of ingesting any plastic residues accidentally. This bio plastic has a permeable and smooth surface suitable for writing and potentially printing of complex barcode for scanning. It is also washable water and not easily soluble in it suitable for the need to remain its enactment and legibility in various environmental conditions (such as moisture or temperature variations).
